Random information on the term “Cancel”:

Cancel culture, or rarely also known as call-out culture, is a phrase contemporary to the late 2010s and early 2020s used to refer to a form of ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or professional circles—whether it be online, on social media, or in person. Those subject to this ostracism are said to have been “cancelled”.[a] The expression “cancel culture” has mostly negative connotations, and is used in debates on free speech and censorship. The notion of cancel culture is a variant on the term call-out culture. It is often said to take the form of boycotting or shunning an individual, often a celebrity, who is deemed to have acted or spoken in an unacceptable manner.

Some critics argue that cancel culture has a chilling effect on public discourse, is unproductive, does not bring real social change, causes intolerance, and amounts to cyberbullying. Others argue that calls for “cancellation” are themselves a form of free speech, and that they promote accountability, give disenfranchised people a voice, and is questioned as an actual phenomenon, in that they are simply another form of boycotting. While the careers of some public figures have been impacted by cancellation, others say they have been cancelled but continue their careers as before.

Random information on the term “AXE”:

Axe is a 1974 American independent horror film written and directed by Frederick R. Friedel and starring Leslie Lee. Its plot follows a trio of criminals who lodge at a rural farmhouse where a teenage girl resides with her disabled grandfather. After one of the men attempt to rape her, she enacts revenge.

Originally titled Lisa, Lisa, the film is one of the famous “video nasties” that was banned in the United Kingdom in the early 1980s.

A group of three mobsters—Steele, Lomax, and Billy—enter a hotel room and await Aubrey, a local man who owes them money. Aubrey arrives with his male lover shortly after, and Lomax shoves a burning cigar down his throat before beating him to death. Aubrey’s lover leaps to his death from the 12th-floor window. Afterward, Steele, Lomax, and Billy drive through the countryside. Billy is remorseful for their crime, while Steele and Lomax are indifferent. Steele and Lomax relentlessly terrorize a female clerk, tearing off her blouse before firing a gun above her head and pouring Coca-Cola on her during a stop at a grocery store.
